DOCTOR BISON. were formed in the summer of 94. by songwriter Baz Oldfield and Drummer 'the Rev' John Oldfield. The brothers first appeared in Newport punk rock originals 'the Abs'
The Abs made two blistering albums "Mentalenema" and "Nail it Down" . The Abs debut John Peel session ended up in his pick of the year along side the Pixies and New order. With the addition of the unmistakable guitar sound of ex Leatherface guitarist Dickie Hammond and bass lunatic Chepstow Reg, the Doctor Bison line up was complete and the band set about doing what they do best, playing live building up a reputation as an awesome live band both here and abroad

After a string of highly-praised singles on their own Truncheon Music label and appearing on Mother Stoat's 'Club Stoat vol1. Their debut album The Bloated Vegas Years,'  was released the summer of '97 on the workers playtime label to critical acclaim .
With logistical problems (the band literally living at opposite ends of the country) and with problems with the distribution of their records the band called it a day at the end of '97. Before this however they found time to record their second album which had laid gathering dust until a passing comment alerted Mother Stoat to the existence of this lost classic . and they felt it was far to good not to see the light of day.
The album takes up where their excellent debut album left off and takes the band on to an even greater level , pushing their musical boundaries further with songs such as the crazed banjo led live anthem Fractured Jaw. But don't worry it's still essentially a great punk rock album.
